EAST LONDON MINI LEAGUE - 26th November 2016 The final round of 2016 concluded at Becontree Heath. This league is a great opportunity for some of our younger swimmers to gain and build experience of Inter Club Competitions. Overall EFDSC finished 6th in the League. This was in no small part due to missing an earlier round at Eltham. There were many great performances over the course of the league, and the experience gained will be hugely beneficial to both swimmers and coaches. Well done to everybody who has participated in and supported the events this year.
EAST LONDON MINI LEAGUE - 16th October 2016 The East London Mini League kicked off on Saturday, 24 September at Cathall Road, Leyton with many of our young swimmers competing in a gala for the very first time.  This is a great opportunity to gain experience of competing and to start building the bonds that are needed to form a successful team for the future.  The swimmers did themselves, their parents and the Club proud and are no doubt looking forward to the next round on Sunday 30th October.
HOME GALA – 18th September 2016 6:30am Sunday, 18 September, as most people close their eyes and roll over to take advantage of a well deserved weekend lie in our band of dedicated volunteers arrived at Loughton Pool to prepare for our home gala.  The event takes place twice a year and is the main fund raiser for the Club.  The Home Gala was a massive success, both in the pool (with medals galore for our swimmers) and out of the pool (with funds raised for the Club’s coffers).  It would be impossible for the Club to run the Home Gala without volunteers so if you fancy an early morning and want to help in future, please let any member of the Committee know.

The next Home Gala will be held on Sunday, 4 December 2016 (details to follow shortly).
ASA NATIONAL SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS 1st-5th August 2016 EFDSC swimmer, Amelia Peddle, qualified for the ASA National Summer Swimming Championships at Sheffield Ponds Forge between 1-5 August.  Amelia competed in the 50m backstroke and the 100m backstroke against the best talent in England.  She was massively successful reaching the finals in both events.  Over the course of the Championships, Amelia achieved personal bests finishing fifth in the final of the 50m backstroke with a time of 31.43 and fourth in the final of the 100m backstroke with a time of 1.07.46.
